When Burlington Industries Philippines Inc, agreed to be a sponsor of the 2009 Autocross series tournament in Enchanted Kingdom, participants got not only free puma socks but also got the chance to win Burlington gift packs.

Participants of the racing event got a pair of puma socks as they register for the tournament.

182 cars compete but Carlos Anton, overall champion of the day, won and receive Burlington Gifts packs and cash prices from various sponsors while David Lim got the over lead for the entire tournament.

Burlington Biofresh highlights its campaign for foot care products, the flexgel and sofigel during the 10th health and wellness event held at mega trade hall SM Megamall Mandaluyong Last Oct 17, 2009. The show began with a foot health seminar by Dr. Luino Tongson, a diabetic doctor from St. Lukes Medical Center. The talk focused on the importance of taking care   of our feet and the prevention that we could do against foot diseases, pressures and pain thru the use of Flexgel and Sofigel.

These products give our feet the comfort that we need especially when walking all day long and wearing tight footwear. The talk was followed by a fashion show; this is to promote our very own Biofresh Undergarments Collection. Audience gave a big hand as the models ramp and show their body figure to the crowd.

Phil. Skyrunning Association (PSA) is PSC recognized

Early this year, the group that was once known as pinoy skyrunners was officially organized as the Philippine skyrunning association. After having itself officially registered as a non-stock, non-profit organization with the securities and exchange commission, the PSA sought the recognitionof the Philippine sports governing body – the Philippine sports  commission (PSC) on a meeting held last april 14, 2009 at the psc office in ultra sports complex, the officers and key members of PSA formally introduced themselves and the organization to the psc chairman, Mr.Harry Angping and to one of the PSC commissioners, Fr. Vicente Uy, SVD. During the meeting, Psa Announced to PSC its plans for promoting the sport of skyrunning in the Philippines. The PSC in turn normally acknowledge the organization and promised to support its future activities.

The 22nd Mt. Kinabalu Climbathon

Last   August 23 and 24, 2008, 21 runners from manila and 5 from cebu, flew to Kota Kinabalu to take part in an annual skyrunning event held at the Mt. Kinabalu Heritage site. The Philippines held the record for the biggest international contingent that year. This annual event drew participants from Europe, Australia, and Asia. For the Men’s Open, Isidro Vildosola made it to the cutoff placing 28th among 134 runners. For the Women’s division, liezl Gitaruelas from Cebu placed 4th while Everest summiteers, Carina Dayondon and Janet Belarmino placed 16th and 17th, respectively, out of 57 female runners. Potamio Tan and Mon Marchan made it to the cut-off of 6 hours and 30 minutes for the veteran’s division.

A night of mimicry, music and magic

An exhilarating mix of magic, music and mimicry was dished out recently for a worthy caused by a group of celebrities led by Brod Pete a.k.a. Isko Salvador that benefited the library of Lingap Foundation of Calumpit, Bulucan, the construction og the Mary Immaculate quasi parish church in Barangay Don Bosco in Paranaque, various values formation seminars at Barangay San Juan in Cainta, Rizal and the feeding program of kanlungan in Maria Antipolo City.

The fund-raising entertainment project sponsored by Burlington Shock XT and BioFresh Anti-Microbial Soulutions saw Brod Pete, who rose to fame in the Ang Dating Daan spoof in Bubble Gang, and talented comedian/ magician Jeffrey Tam who dished out a riotous comedy act that put the house down. Here are examples of Brod Pete’s witty humor that sent the audience roaring in laughter.
“I studied at UST for eight years but I did not learn anything. First four years, I took up Psychology then I enrolled for another course, Reversed psychology. Nabura lahat ang pinag-aralan ko,” Salvador quipped in dead pan manner.

“For those who belive in telekinesis, raise my hand,” said Kris Aquino’s co-star on Pinoy Bingo Night.
After Tam’s amazing magic show (he correctly guessed the choice card by volunteers from the audience, one by drawing it on a pad, the other by getting it from his mouth), Salvador boasted that he can also do wonders with a handkerchief supplied by a woman at the frontrow.

Seeing that it was an El Shaddai merchandise, he politely returned it and commented that he did not wish to get into trouble with the group’s servant-leader, the charismatic Bro. Mike Velarde.

What he was supposed to do was light up one end of the handkerchief and restore it to its origin form. When the burnt hole remained in the hanky, he then blamed the crowd for sabotaging his magic. He likewise plugged in his own funny manner the show’s main sponsor, Burlington anti-microbial solutions to the delight of the Burlington employees present.

“May nasusulat tungkol sa germsfree at zero-odor ng Burlington,” he declared pointing to the underwear’s and towel’s label’s . he also showed the Burlington BioFresh socks he was wearing during that time.
